September's Casting Call Contest
Updated: 5 days ago

Welcome to the September edition of the FINAL BLOG and another chance to win a $25 Amazon voucher in the Final Notice Casting Call Contest!
For those of you reading this blog for the first time, Final Notice and Final Act are being adapted into a four-part limited series screenplay, I thought it would be fun to get readers to suggest actors who could play the various roles. And to make it more interesting, a lucky winner will be drawn each month from those who suggested the winning actor. All you need to do is tell me which actor you think would be best for each month's featured role, and you will be entered with a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift voucher.
Here is the recent interview with Alek Belikov, Vijay's partner in the ongoing development of the VT2 watch, and September's character who needs an actor to play his role. So, let's meet Alek to give you an idea of who should play him in Final Notice, the series, and give you a better chance to win the prize.
(Van) "Hello, Alek, and welcome to the Casting Call Contest."
(Alek) "Hey, Van. Thanks for having me."
(Van) "Let's start out with one of your most unusual decisions - implanting a SIM card in your head."
(Alek) "Hey, it turned out to be a pretty sane idea, right? Today, about 50,000 people have chips installed for company ID, keyless access to their homes, credit card payments, and even access to their last will and testaments."
(Van) "That's true, but do you really think we'll all be chipped one day?"
(Alek) "Well, even I think those are pretty broad parameters, but when you use 'all' and 'one day' in a sentence, I can definitely say 'yes,' because neither you, me, or anyone reading this will be alive long enough to say I was wrong."
(Van) "Okay, you got me. But it does seem like a great idea. It also adds a new dimension to fake IDs. Alek, what was your favorite aspect of your role in Final Act?"
(Alek) "Working with Vijay in Final Act, and especially Final Chance. And thanks for the expanded role in the TV series. Vijay epitomizes one of the greatest aspects of the U.S. and the role that immigrants can play as it evolves."
(Van) "You have a pretty good, if not quirky, sense of humor as a book character. How does that compare with the real you?"
(Alek) "Would I be answering your question if I said that I can be anything you write? But if there was a real me, I hope I'd have a good sense of humor. Life is challenging, both for real people and for book characters, so laughing is good for all of us."
(Van) "Changing gears, we're going to be speaking with your childhood friend, Vik Vasin, in next month's edition, but what can you tell me about him.?"."
(Alek) "I grew up on the same street as Vik. That in itself spoke volumes in those days when it was us Russian immigrants against the Italians, Irish, Puerto Ricans or other groups from the surrounding neighborhoods. We were brothers. But I was lucky and loved math and science. So, my life changed, and I moved away. Vik was there a lot longer, and that 'gang' mentality stayed with him."
(Van) "Are you two still in touch?"
(Alek) "Yes, I see him from time to time. He regrets his decisions but accepts his punishment."
(Van) "Thank you, Alek. It was super to see you again. Check out next month's blog to see who our readers choose to play your role.
(Alek) "I hope they choose someone very handsome."
(Van) "I'm sure they will."
